Does LG have some different wireless charging standard?

I bought this QI Wireless Power PAD Charger FOR Iphone Samsung Galaxy S3 S4 NOTE2 Nokia Nexus | eBay

It doesn't seem to work with my G2 but works with my sisters Nexus 5.

Is branded charger or cheap China made?

I have the official Google Nexus Charger imported from Google Play in USA. I would however not recommend it because of the small size. I have to place the phone very carefully on it or it does not charge properly even when the battery panel shows that it is charging.
