limited connectivity

hi guys.I am using UT300 R2u. i have recently configured my adsl modem on a new latop via ethernet. since then my desktop(connected by usb)shows limited connectivity. Previously my desktop was connecting through WAN Miniport. Now it shows error 678(remote computer did not respond).In my desktop LAN connections ADSL is connected but Internet connetions-Bradband is disconnected. also i am unable to access/ping 192.168.1.1 from desktop though it is possible from laptop now.
 
which mode are you using--bridge mode or pppoe mode?to connect multiple devices simultaneously to a modem you must use pppoe mode(in which you enter your username/pass in the modem itself & it dials for you)while in bridge mode you use windows to dial connection by entering username/pass in your computer.

In your computer Network/Lan/Properties/TCP/IP properties
select assign Ip automatically.
DNS enter 208.67.220.220 and 208.67.222.222
Still "no go"
Start run type cmd type ipconfig/all .
Compare with working laptop. Ip address should be different say 192.168.1.4 and 192.168.1.5
