local operator refusing to install railwire with 299 freedom plan

So after looking around at a couple of options to replace my BSNL backup connection, I stumbled upon Railwire. I put in a request, and to my surprise (and disappointment), I get a call back from the same dreadful guy who handled my BSNL connection earlier the one who basically gave zero support the whole time. Turns out, he’s also the local contact for Railwire as well as Speednet Broadband.


He sent me the list of packages I can recharge with, but here’s the problem: none of the plans he shared include the TV bundles. For example, the Railwire ₹299 plan clearly comes with TV, but he doesn’t offer me anything like that. I thought I’d just go for the ₹249 plan since I only want a very basic backup line, but when I asked, he flat-out said that’s not possible either.


Honestly, this whole arrangement feels like you’re stuck dealing with the same monopoly of local operators no matter which ISP you go with. If Airtel had their normal broadband here, I’d switch in a second but they only offer AirFiber in my area, which isn’t what I’m looking for.


Anyone else here run into similar trouble with Railwire or these kinds of local providers? Do they just cherry-pick plans and push what they want, or is there a way to actually get the published packages like the 299 one with TV?

I might also give in and get airtel airfiber if i can somehow put set it up with my openwrt router since i use mwan3 in a multiwan failover setup.

im getting jio upstream routes and latencies are pretty not horrible but reasonable in my tests. Anyone figured how to get a airtel upstream ip range?

okay so more updates all ipv6 routes are using airtel upstream SO YAY! ipv4 still using jio tho applied for a gaming ip lets see if that changes things

received a gaming ip. from what i can test i figured its just a static ip assigned to you with open ports. probably over 1000 from what i checked. upstream didnt change to airtel tho

You can’t get Airtel upstream unless you have a contact with CNOC.
I tried to change the upstream to Airtel, but I was only able to optimize the Jio upstream in both IPv4 and IPv6.

where to get a contact of the CNOC. I found an email of Kolkata NOC on their website and wrote a mail never received a mail back tho. Even after redialling multiple times i only receive jio ipv4 in ipv6 its a 70/30 jio/airtel chances

Apologies for reopening an old thread. I am running into same problem. The local operator is refusing to provide any plan below 500rs because he earns no commission on plans below that.

When I did call rail wire support number directly, they say they only provide connectivity and last mile is dealt by LCO and it is up to them on what plans they sell.

@usrlocal Yes in case of railwire you cannot do much, LCOs choose what plans they can offer you since you cannot upgrade or downgrade plans online. I face this too he wasn't letting me recharge plans less than 349 so i recharged a 300mbps yearly plan for 8k
