my point exactly , they have blocked the appications themselves, most likely because these 2 apps must be most popular for filesharing.very strange. kazaa, arez, warez & particularly on irc i get terrific speeds.

yesterday i visited the sify office along with a couple of other users who are facing same issue. I met up with the engg who is handling this, he @$$ures us that the matter will be sorted out in 48 hours.an other users in mumbai who are facing same problem & are willing to do something about it instead of sitting on their @$$es & letting others do it ... pm me.

Sorry if you use a router and you are running NAT and you have changed the port numbers how can they tell what appliactions are running? As if leaves your router on a set port and reponds on the same port, a packet of data on a port is just that and i don't think any ISP has the time to read every head-end of each packet to see what it is?There for if you change the port from the link above you should see that this is fine..Chino

read what ive said before putting in your two cents . ive been to their office & have talked with the enginner, theve accepted that emule & torrents arent working & they are working on it.i dont care techinically what crap has happned why , if you think you can intelligently help , let me know if your in mumbai

I think i could help though as i am not in Mumbai until July they will have sorted your problem for now...I was only trying to help and i know u have been to there office though as i work for an ISP (not in india) i could have solve your issue...Chino

chino, those people are mean, dumb a$$holes, im goin to the office with a big sword today , if they dont help us out , ill castrate those fu(kers.

this sify s*ckesssssssssssssssssssi m even facing same problem blocked p2p i had tried kazza, ares, and ares lite too, warez, emul, edonkey, shareza, limeware all r blocked initialy ares and kazza warez were working good and also limeware but from past five month all is bloked but kazza lite still working but its bullsh*ttt after that one of my frnd told me to chage ports i was knowing abt this and tried for ares but nothing happen and then i tryed for emul gusse its wokring now if u set ur incoming port to know port then it will work like 21 ftp ,23 telnet, 25 smtp,80 http server,81 i dont know for what is,so sify user can try to set incoming to this port but major problem is of udp ports which r completly bloked by sify if any of this p2p work on udp port the u wont be able to do anything u can try emul which uses tcp port and will work fine

thats true.ur id(low or high) and download speed of emule depends on ur ports condition.there r some online port scanners.scan ur system and note down ur open ports.and use them.
i did this.and iam getting 6k"B"ps download speed(on my 64 kbps line).

TIA......

nirav....

and frustated..... so whom do we go and bash....? i am also from mumbai..... ;)

firoz.i had asked them to open 21 , and yeah i get a high id on emule on it , & succesfully downloaded on this port for couple of months.now , thhough i get a high id , download/upload doesnt happen , i have another isp .. tataindicombb, i get a high id on same ports & it downloads like crazy there. its not the ports , its teh appz themselves that are blocked, gone are the days when ports were blocked, networking must have impoved that much now as to block apps .
