our friend is in mumbai so that is not a problem. even in smaller cities they would provide service but would take sometime.

the good thing with Dell nbd warranty is that the support people come to your house to fix your machine. i dont think any other company provide that kind of support here in india. :D

but, doesn't Apple too provide such service?

anyway, I'll not be buying any Apple products, atleast for some time 'cause, its like buying a Benz.....

mhm... if maruti starts selling 800 for 10 lakhs tomorrow, that would not make it comparable to benz...:confused::confused:Apple does the packaging better. has a better sense of software. the hardware remains similar to the PC.

hai DRSRQ you can buy COMPAQ PC it is also BRANDED ONE. There are some good model in best price. COMPAQ has its service centre in all parts. if you make a call to their toll free number the Service Engineers will come and solve the problem in one day.

what is your budget? let's see what i can come up with!

Hullo Sushubh,

Many Thanks for your Feedback and Information. But wherever, I go on the Internet i all the time see "WINDOWS VISTA BEING PROMOTED" -- i am only interested in WINDOWS -- XP AS MY OS.

1) Is that still possible if i buy a Branded PC and will i have to get someone as in a "TRUSTWORTHY SOFTWARE ENGINEER FRIEND" to upload it for me onto the OS or will i get it in any PARTICULAR STORE when i take the final decision to buy a Branded PC. (WINDOWS VISTA SEEMS TO BE AWARE ALL AROUND AND WINDOWS XP SEEMS TO HAVE DISAPPEARED LIKE THE VANISHING TIGERS OF INDIA).

2) My Budget is between 20,000- 30,000. (either 160 GB HARD DISK OR 320 GB HARD DISK).

Regards and Thanks in Advance,

Gabriel 36.

if you are going for a branded machine with Windows included. i would suggest go for Vista... unless you use certain software which are not known to work well with vista. vista is a fine OS if you have at least 2 gig ram and enough processing power. buying a machine that would not work fine with vista today is as bad as buying a bad machine! :P

Sushubh,

I respectfully disagree with u as i have friends in Mumbai who have bought Branded Machines with Windows Vista and they have been subject to Computer crashes, computer slowing down, etc.

Let me ask u again, is it possible to upload Windows -XP onto a Branded Machine through a friend if it is not already present on a Machine at the store.

Windows- XP is the only OS -- i am used to for a number of years and has given me the least number of problems.

any feedback is welcome.
