Hi All,
I've been using Airtel for several years now (my plan is 4mps for 10GB then @256kbps unlimited). I'm not much of a hopper so I've put with their rip offs for over an year now but I think I had enough. For several months now, they revise my speed even when my GB isn't consumed (I've been timing it for some time, most cut offs happened when even 5GB wasn't consumed. ) their internet pretty much stops working, even loading basic pages once speed is revised to @256kbps which just about always happens within first week itself of monthly reset, so my connection is rendered useless for remaining month and I've to rely on my phone voda 3G. Numerous complaints to customer care haven't shown any results so I'm determined to make a switch to someone else now.
I'm looking for broadband which is available in sector -47, Gurgaon and is reliable enough that I won't have to start looking for another company couple of months down the line. I stream a lot of videos online, I also buy content whose online copies are downloadable instead of ordering for physical DVDs like games, softwares etc so my over all data usage is fairly high. I've 2-4 devices always connected to wifi even if not in use (2-3 phones + tablet/laptop) so I preferably wouldn't like to go for anything that restricts how many devices can be simultaneously connected. I'd really love to go for a plan without FUP, but if not, at least something that doesn't revise speed below 512kbps-1mbps post data is required. As for regular speed within limit, anything between 1mbps - 10 mbps is fair game.
Companies I've contacted so far to check connectivity (which ones of these you recommend provided they cover sec 47?)
-YOU broadband
- tikona
- nextra

Thanks in advance for the suggestions!

You should check out Nextra if they are available in your region. Tikona and You have loads of bad reviews.
I am not saying that Nextra is awesome. But it is a newer service provider and considering it is based on Fiber, it should work well for your needs.

If all fails you could always get bsnl's 10gb 4mbps, 512k post fup plan.Do check out nextra through.

Well. If he can manage with downloads in the evening and nights, it should be fine. But BSNL is horrible for me during day time. :
