Hello,I use Home 500 Plan.I use Download Accelerators. When The Operating System was XP, i used to get download speeds around 250kbps.Now I have changed to Vista and the Download Speed has never gone above 210kbps.If anyone can help me please do so.....

Anti virus used in vista?windows defender on or off?type of connection LAN or USB...???Using PPPOE in vista or always on in router....Router model ? Provide the following details.... As a quick fix try this... goto start >>>run>>> type gpedit.msc under computer configuration >>>> administrative templates >>>> Network >>>> QoS Packet scheduler >>>> Limit reservable bandwidth >>> Enable >>>> Value 0 or 1. save and restart PC....:cool2:

AntiVirus: Kaspersky Internet Security
Windows Defender: ON
Type Of Connection:LAN
Always ON
Nokia Siemens SL2_141 Type 2 Modem

And gpedit.msc is not available in Vista Home Premium

Oh yeah...For all the gamers Windows is Demi God!!!

Vista is by default optimized for Internet...there aint any reserved bandwidth in Vista.Operating system should not decrease your speed..what i can mnake out of this that On XP there was a error in shown speed and now you are getting realistic speeds on Vista.By the way 210 KBps seems to be more realistic value for a 2 mbps connection than 250 KBps.

ahhmm

Vista has gpedit.msc,,, a lil FYI.
you are running home premium thats why u cant pull it up.... it still maybe there if u go through admin tools...i.e, if its there..... Geez its a shame they call home premium a VISTA...its not even half as good.
On Vista i used to get better speeds than what i get on XP....
VISTA has options such as TCP optimiser which may increase/decrease speeds.... it has windows defender running in BG another resource eater..... kaspersky may be running active scan on utorrent or anyother download client......
NO ONE BOTHERED TO ASK "WHERE DO U SEE THESE SPEEDS?", "ARE YOU USING UTORRENT OR JUST DOWNLOADING FROM BROWSER?"

JUST GIVE HIM SOMETHING TO FIDDLE WITH eh!!! WE GAVE YOU THE ANSWER NOW ITS UPTO U....lol

@APPLEBOY..... answer the questions mentioned above...plz
IF USING Utorrent have u patched for half open connections?
There is lots that can be wrong.....its no solution that this speed is decent or that speed is good....it sounds like those ISP CC resolution.;)
