I just got excitel installed for 6 months few hours back. My plan is of 200mbps. On torrent I am getting on average 60kBps. Also when I switch server for speed test (Excitel to any other) speeds goes down to half or one-third. Am I stuck for 6 months? Also found out many websites I download from are not giving above 1mBps. I earlier had 30mbps Jio connection and I used to get better speed. Jumped ships due to cheap prices and high speeds. Looks like I got duped.

you are not going to get good speeds on all torrents. so my testing is pointless here. my point is that excitel is not messing around with torrent traffic. and depending upon routing, speeds on some domains is going to be bad compared to other ISPs. speeds on peered services is generally fine. if he is getting terrible speeds on non excitel speedtest servers closer to his location, the problem is probably localized. it probably won't hit 200mbps but should be good enough.
I dont do torrenting a lot, but last I did download a movie using Airtel, it was not crossing 4MB/s mark. I was on Gigabit Plan. There are numerous factors on which speed for different services depend. Best not to blame Excitel or any other ISP if you are getting 80% of the plan's speed to ISP's own Speedtest servers.

When I had excitel, they were blocking UDP torrent traffic, so the mileage may vary.
