heyas the major cost incurred to the isps is for the badwidth between india and rest of the world.. then why can't they just let domestic traffic remain free??.. i mean when domestic connectivity is practically free for the isps then why do they make us pay for it??.. and anyways , i imagine that if just domestic traffic is made free then the badwidth that india uses will also dropdown considerably as the content(p2p,?,movies etc) would not be downloaded from foreign sources but rather only indian ones thereby reducing the load on the line connecting us with rest of the worldi posted this comment under another thread ... but i want some more comments on it..

NIXI (-| Welcome To National Internet eXchange of India |-) was supposed to help in this regard. Have no idea of what happened to the initiative. Maybe there is hardly any traffic originating as well as terminating within India.
