These are different method how picture is drawn/displayed on our TV screen. Most TV's support only Interlaced scanning. But LCD/Plasma screens support both.

But I also faced differences in the usage.
For e.g., I have have a favorite with UTV and NDTV.
In 576i -> I chose UTV thro' favorites. After 5 min, I press the down button, I get NDTV ( within the favorites )
In 576p -> I chose UTV tho' favorites. After info menu disappears, I press the down button. I get some other channel as the mode is already switched from "favorite" to "TV"
I tested this several times with same results. Did anybody else experience such differences???

Fren this happened to me in 576i as well. I Called and asked CC people... He replied that 'favourite option is not yet available and you hav to wait for somemore time':dance::cool2:

Thanks for that input. I upgraded to new software ( load : 05 ) last week and this problem is not consistent now. It happens once or twice but not always as before. I tested with 576P.
