Microsoft acquiring Nokia (Devices and Services Divisions)

Got this mail today. So by April 2014 end MS will own Nokia.

Rumor: Nokia mobile may be renamed as Microsoft Mobile.

Right. They renamed Windows Mobile as Windows Phone. Now they using the Mobile name again. I guess it would encompass all their mobile products. I mean they do have to copy newer stuff like Google Glass and so on!

What about their Chennai plant which was being said been delaying the acquisition?

It remains a Nokia property for the time being. Nokia decided to keep it for the time being to ensure that the deal gets completed. It can be sold at a later stage to Microsoft or even Micromax. It would manufacture Nokia devices on contract for the time being I think.

I want to know which Nokia is this. The Nokia Nokia or the Microsoft Nokia.

Looks like Nokia Nokia.

"Soon after the Chennai plant was converted into contract manufacturing facility, as it was excluded from the Nokia-Microsoft USD 7.2 billion deal, the operations of the Chennai plant will be based on the supply orders. Because of this reason, the company (Nokia) offered VRS," he said.

Ah right. So what would this factory do now? Manufacture Micromax phones?
