Make sure you keep backup codes out of your Google account. A friend of mine was locked out after he ported out. Was relying on texts. Google sms stopped coming on his new operator (airtel).

So how did he got it back?

Account is not supposed to be locked out for many weeks right?

He was using texts only. He has an iPhone but no data connection. [emoji15]

Check out these options for not getting locked out. It reduces security. Anyway you need to tradeoff

Authy for token management
Secondary phone number for getting the tokens
