totally disagree. Mpeg-4 quality is way beter than mpeg-2 because they compress less so quality turns out better.

MPEG-4 compresses MORE than MPEG-2, not the other way round.

I guess MPEG4 provides good Quality with higher compression rates...The difference you can seen in your Mobile...Just have MP4 Video and MP2 Video.. watch it in full screen.. you will come to know which is better in clarity..

Also compare the space occupied by both.. MP4 definitely smaller than any other format.

just to remove confusion about mpeg 4 and mpeg 2, Well yes mpeg 4 is the lates and better compression technique but it has nothing to do with better picture and audio quality.

Audio and Vedio quality of both mpeg 2 and mpeg 4 are same further mpeg 4 is beneficial for broadcasters to put on more channels per transponder.

The DTH operators are know that, Indians are fools and hence they are making fool to the public, saying we are/HAVE first/advanced/blah-blah... MPEG-4 technology :wall:

where MPEG-4 or MPEG-100 :hysterical: will have NO benefit to end users. ITS ONLY A BIG ADVANTAGE FOR DTH OPERATORS TO PUT MORE CHANNELS IN A RESTRICTED TRANSPONDER BANDWIDTH, WHICH THEY HAVE TAKEN ON RENT :hysterical:

I tried. It is difficult to do. That is why I asked here.

I tried to put together something. Should be fairly accurate. Please note that I excluded all interactive services. Another point, Airtel has radio channels, Tata Sky has none.

Rest is in the sheet. Basis: Tata Sky channels have been taken from their website [copy / paste]. Airtel channels have been taken from their North and South Ultra packages.

Yes a small set of channels missing in either of them. But one thing to keep in mind is that since this is the comprehensive list of channels, if you want all, you will have to shell out more, since these are the top most packages. Also, both in Airtel and Tata Sky, the top most packages for South and North are different.

Bindaas is available in Airtel though not updated at their website.Also, in Airtel, some channels are missing in North Ultra are missing in South Ultra Package and vice versa. So in a way you cannot get "all" channels in any way. For example Zee is not available on choosing South Ultra.

You are right. That's what I noticed when I was compiling the list. Some Zee group channels, and Punjabi channels are not available in the South Ultra. Similarly, some Kannada and Malayalam channels are not available in the North Ultra.

Hi,Does anyone know what is the model number of the airtel DTH settop box. I can only find that the manufacturer is Kaon and from the menu settings the model number is being shown as 0x25 which I dont think is right.

DON'T BUY IT. STAY AWAY FROM ADTV.:ishock::ishock:AIRTEL DTH is worst dth service in india. The picture quality of ADTV is even worse than my cable tv(connected on AV). Its STB has no HDMI ports or even Dvd component ports.I am cursing myself i wasted my money on it:wall::wall::wall:
