In a landmark judgement, Delhi High Court has ruled that telecom operators and Mobile Value added service providers cannot provide live updates of matches to their mobile subscribers. The ruling came in favour of Star India, who have exclusive media broadcasting rights for all cricket matches organized by the BCCI until 2018.

So no more online scores then!

Woo! I think a similar ruling is applicable on radio stations?
So, I am guessing, we cannot post current scores on this website too? :D What about CricInfo? LOL. Numbers are now copyrighted?

lol. I meant cricinfo type sites. Anyways the order seems to be restricted to mobile operators alone?

I doubt ruling of an Indian court is even applicable on mobile apps developed by developers not residing in India. :)
I wish Google Now had instant update for scores and charts (stock market for example).

The judgement refers to similar kind of cases around the world. It seems we are doomed now, no respite!
So if any site which is not based in India can update the scores? (provided they are not ordered to be blocked by courts)

lol. there are shit load of mobile apps I am not sure what you are worried about :) plus star sports has a website so I am guessing they want traffic to go to them instead.

Atleast in Android apps, cricbuzz is best. Cricinfo is crappy.
Not much other options for live scores...
In most of companies, major cricket sites are blocked, they smaller sites for live updates
