‘Mortal Kombat II’ Will Now Rumble Next Summer

Warner Bros has moved 'Mortal Kombat II' from Oct. 24 this year to May 15, 2026 to get better play at the summer box office.

Warner Bros and New Line’s Mortal Kombat 2 will now fight toward the start of next summer on May 15, 2026 instead of Oct. 24 this year.

The Simon McQuoid-directed sequel is bound to deliver tons more in mid-May than staying in the crowded late October frame where 20th Century Studios’ Jeremy Allen White Bruce Springsteen movie, Springsteen Deliver Me From Nowhere, and the next Colleen Hoover feature take, Paramount’s Regretting You, exists. Also, Halloween is the next weekend, and well, that’s not a so-vibrant time at the box office.

That's the most lame ass reasoning I have ever seen. The movie won't do good between Bruce Springsteen and Colleen Hoover movie, so let's shift it right in the middle between The Devil Wears Prada 2 (May 1) and The Mandalorian and Grogu(May 22) because that's where it will get the biggest box office. Also, Halloween is not so a vibrant time? So many movies have done amazingly well during Halloween.
