Moser Baer Dvd - Bad Surface- Where To Go To Replace Them

also, i checked an online newspaper article on moser baer's replacement warranty. it said that at few select outlets can replace the dvd's! any ideas on this?that's interesting....... though I would suspect that to replace a disc, they would expect you to have some kind of bill/receipt to prove where and when you bought it... which most people don't really bother to get.

Do you have any evidence to back up this statement ?
I've used the +R DVDs and got very good scan quality scores with them mostly averaging mid 90s, anything under 80 gets binned and i have not got any yet. (too bad that link does not work, maybe admin will fix it).
In the meantime look here for +R & -R
Tayyo Udens give u 99-100, not that bad for an Indian Brand i would say.
I would rather say, only buy Moser-baer, if you choose to go Indian and avoid any other funky names as they are B-grade Moder Baer's.
Sony's (same with Verbatim's) sold here are made in Taiwan, similar in quality to Moser-Baer for much more.
If you get the made in Japan then maybe.
So if you are talking price/performance Moser-Baer delivers quite well. What i'm unsure of is how stable the dyes are, but i guess i will know in a few yrs.
Oh and i would agree with the others, don't buy them loose, i pay Rs.280 for a pack of 10 (cheapest i could find in BLR).

Nope no evidence. Just a little bit of bad experience with moser baer CD-R and CD-RWs, and subsequently a much better experience with Verbatims and TDK DVD-Rs. So yes, I would have to say that it's mostly a bias, but a couple of these posts have made me now want to try Moser Baers. How much does a spindle of 50 DVD-Rs cost in Nehru Place?

I have a Writex DVD-R 4.7 GB 50 DVD Pack, out of which about 10-15 are left. No disc damaged though. I use more of the 3 Moser Baer DVD-RW discs I have, they are quite good and I got them for quite cheap (Rs.60 each).

).Even going by the price above for a fifty pack it works out to Rs.15/DVDso maybe his source is buying them in the 100+, but one quesitons how good they would be at Rs.10, maybe they are B-grade ones, tho i can't imagine why they would be sold under the Moser-Baer name.Reading on various forums ppl in the EU lamenting the fat that not even the Made in Taiwans (MIT) for Sony & Veratim were available since the production of MIJ have slowed down and whats left is being sent to the US. Who says that the cheapest DVD-R is Rs13 , i get Tech-Com DVDRs at Rs9 a piece, no need to buy in bulk. And none of the DVDR s that i bought are defective.
