MTNL 1199 plan from 256 KBPS unlimited

After changing from 256 KBPS unlimited plan to 1199 - 6GB plan, which promised for 512 to 2 MBPS speed. After change taken place I am not getting a speed more than 24-27 kbps and it varies from 15-30 kbps at regular intervals of seconds. I have contacted so many times the customer care but in vain. Nobody able to sort out the problem. They asked for contacting a sanchar hut at nearby location and make a complaint. What shall I do to get the correct speed? I checked my modem setting thru 192.168.1.1 and found that at ADSL the setting shows downstream 253 KBPS and upstream 253 kbps, what does it mean? THe change of speed have not been taken place?? These babus are a bunch of 'sloths'. Write to the GM directly with the relevant details & mention that u have to trouble him as the cc are a ignorant bunch.

yup that means they havent changed the speeds. keep bugging them or contact the GM with all the docket numbers.

Visit QCS (Sanchar Haat in delhi), go to BB dept of ur junction and meet Broadband Divisional Officer; Ur speed will be rectified within few seconds!
They'll log onto ur acc, change ur sync speed from their main server.
In 1199 plan, ur upstream should be 2048 kbps and downstream 512 kbps;
Under any case download speed should not fall below 512/8= 64 kBps.

I suppose u know diff. between kbps and kBps.
[kbps= kilo bit/sec
kBps= kilo byte/sec]
