I have very similar stats.. what can I do to improve & get 8M to work?
Code:ADSL Firmware Version : FwVer:3.12.8.201_TC3086 HwVer:T14.F7_7.0 Line State : Showtime Modulation : G.DMT Annex Mode : ANNEX_A Downstream Upstream SNR Margin : 15.0 8.0 db Line Attenuation : 30.5 17.5 db Data Rate : 8064 1024 kbps Attainable Rate : 11392 1156 kbps POWER : 19.5 11.5 dbm CRC : 1 0
It got worse. And I thought there was hope. I might call line man, but looks like this is gonna be a tough one to fix.
I tried Auto, ADSL2 and G.DMT and it hasnt budged. You can see the pre-8mbps numbers on previous post. Is this typical? Or was my connect/ line S/N-Attn not goo enough before this change.
Your stats are pretty good, can easily achieve 6-8 Mbps downstream.
It looks like your profile isn't set at their end. Call up their helpline and tell them you are on an 8 Mbps plan but getting a sync at 3.5 Mbps. If they change it and still doesn't work, then you can look at CRC.
thanks for the reply. getting 6.97mbps now. not calling MTNL, <a href="Speedtest.net by Ookla - My Results"><img src="https://www.speedtest.net/result/4520777533.png" /></a>
Yep, thanks. Is there any merit in asking them to lower the down rate to about 6000? Will that boost SNR or lower attenuation? Sorry if this is all elementary - it's all new to me.
@insane79
Get line checked.... or relay the wire from router to ground floor junction box..... mostly that is the culprit....
My Line Atte downstream is higher than yours at 27dB...... but still I have 24dB SNR downstream..... so u can improve your SNR by fixing your line..... I hope those stats were on ADSL2+ Annex M.....
At 26dB Line atte....... u should be fine with 8Mbps if you can improve your SNR...... but as far as port problems...... that depends on the port your on....
Thanks for the info, i changed my plan yesterday & they seem to change the plan fast, today afternoon everything is changed & even shows my plan info in login in setup, i m getting 6.9mbps speed on speedtest, haven't got a change to download & test for disconnection but by theory will my SNR downstream values keep up for 7mbps? could be i had a port issues last time around with this plan, hope its not the case again this time, fingers crossed.
Thanks.
Which modem? MTNL or your own bought? And for splitter?Hmm. Changing modem+splitter fixed the issue.
Can you share some more insight on this?They are changing speeds without calling. Batch by batch.
SOTL users are first to get 9 Mbps.
