ok..this and bridged mode in modem right?edit :- where do i set the dhcp range in the modem??? the (192.168.1.3 - 192.168.1.20 ) one

if you want to use the dialer in windows.. yes bridged mode in modem.. go to http://192.168.1.1 .. you should find DHCP somewhere.. there specify starting range as 192.168.1.3 and ending range as 192.168.1.20..

what abt my router settings? should i keep it in auto DHCP only or PPPOE??

yes.. change 192.168.1.254 to 192.168.1.20 .. NOT PPoe in router..

ok..final 2 queries (hopefully!).

the suggested settings for the above 2 pls ..
