finally got to check my usage after a few days. quite a few missing entries. no entry for 13th except 1.damn i already used 1140 mbs. :( 900 were used up in the 1st week istelf. :(

@amish
Nothing personal bro, but is it really a laughing matter?? Hard cash is involved. Sm1 on this thread mentioned he got a shocker of 5000 last month.

ummm.. pls check why i was lol-ing

On the point of ethics is valid as there will be many users who rely on the details provided by MTNL blindly & then get hit at the end of the month when the backdated entries start appearing. But who to complain to, the TRAI mailbox always seems full, any mail sent bounces off. This has happened to me umpteen time in the past on other issues. :wall:

No backdated entries for the month of July :yahoo:, but the comsumption details for this month seem to be grossly inflated. I use DU meter which normally shows consumption greater than normal this time, its the other way round. So guys br careful, maybe they have found that inflating DL in some sessions as a way to overcome their under billing. A more profitable and less bothersome way of screwing us.:cry:

@socrates.
Just read this post of mine.

I read your post only after having posted my reply there, but immidiately updated it.

Lets wait for the experience of a few more users before making any assumptions. But if what you have suggested is in fact happening, how can we be cool about it.

It would represent the grossest example of malpractice if actually true.
{Disclaimer: I am not assinuating right now that its happening. Lets wait. But whats raising concern in me is that the external progs we r using are meant to record ALL data transfers. Their reporting is much much more likely to be an over-reporting of chargeable DL than an under-reporting, as you too have pointed out.}

I am facing a peculiar situation, In my MTNL usage, the number of sessions are under reported but the amt of DL is inflated for the 1st & 2nd of this month. Is anyone facing the same? Initially I suspected that UL was included. But that does not seem to be the case. Of course only 2 days have gone past & it may be too early to pass a judgment. Would appreciate more observations & inputs on a regular basis. I use DU meter which habitually over reported my DL but now its the other way round. Even switched off WiFi for the last 2 days to observe. Had a similar experience in the past which seemed to stop all by itself !!!!!

BTW I think this thread & ‘To bite or not to bite? (Reqd urgent responses)’ should be merged what say:)

Yes, I can also confirm the same. Its grossly overstated for the 1st & the 2nd. On the 1st, I just did some casual surfing an hour... it counted 42 MB... which is impossible since I had not done any downloads.

So I checked up with my friend yesterday evening and he was fuming as on the 1st, his usage was showing as 311 MB when he had downloaded nothing. He even called up the MTNL helpdesk to register a complaint but they gave him a postal address and asked him to file a written complaint there !!!:mad:
