MTNL Broadband: Configure THOMSON ST585 v6 for MTNL(first need to be unlock)

i got a router from my brother who lives in uk, he send me this THOMSON ST585 v6 Which is locked by Tiscali ISP from UK. Now i want to use this router for MTNL. for that i have to unlock this router to work on MTNL, i need help for the unlock this router and worked it on MTNL.my questions.1 will this work on MTNL.?2 will i have to change firmware?

If you can select VPI/VCI 0 and 32 for MTNL and enter MTNL UserId PW etc it should work. ( may be on UK VPI/VCI 0 and 38)
You may have to RESET the unit to factory settings.
Apply power and press the microswitch for about 20 to 30 seconds.
If you have an Installation CD do not use it. ( specially AOL )
will give link for manual later if required.

ok! i cant change vci setting from 38 to 36 what should i do now?
