MTNL broadband: Dlink DSL-2640U wireless router

I have bought this router...and i dont know what i am doing wrong i cannot connect to the internet. when check the log it gives me "pppd[586]: User name and password authentication failed."..i get no error from MTNL's router..bt wen i try from the D-Link m getting this. I no i have put right username password...Please help...

Username is your tel No. & your password (for the first time) is the CA number which you will find on your tel bill. I presume you have used the same. In case you have changed your password please remember you have to do it in TWO places once after you login to http://register.mtnl.net.in/ & then on your modem/router. See Socrates. The modem shown in that link is a different model but the fundas are the same. If you have changed the password in only one place you will get an error. You can also refer to http://socrates0.blogspot.com/2006/01/configuring-d-link-502t-router-for.html again here the model is different but the fundas are the same plus there is some useful info relating to MTNL like VPI/VCI etc also I had a look at the User Guide for this unit its quite useful & can be found on the site, of course you would be having it on the CD which came with the unit.

thanks for replying...i know i have changed the password in router but still the same problem..............
