mtnl broadband internet goes off every evening

hah MTNL sucks! Get Airtel.

Only if Airtel covers your area, friend. They haven't covered all of Delhi, for example. And, I'm not talking of some far flung area here.

still no improvement , no help from customer servicewhat i can't understand it works smoothly at daytime , but goes off about 7:30 pm everyday and then starts working next morning around 6-7 ami have 749 nu plan and suffering losses due to this strange problem.What could be reason for such specific timings?

The only logical reason which I could make so far as to why it disconnects particularly during the evening time is may be due to the increased broadband users at that time.More the people using the internet at the same time more the drop in the signal strength. A point may be reached when the signal drops to such a low value that the modem is unable to sync with the ADSL line.P.S.: Its only my own theory. I don't know if its correct or not but it fits in the situation.

What could be reason for such specific timings?

Did you try powering the router/modem through a voltage stabiliser or UPS?

Don't want to jump the gun but I tried it and ('touch wood') it seems to be more stable in the evenings now (refer to my previous post in the thread).
