I think you can use a beetel 220bx modem with airtel. I can't provide you the exact settings but settings for all modems are similar if not exactly the same.
Following settings for D-Link will help you somewhat:

Welcome to Broadbandforum.in
You can use beetel 220BX for Mtnl.
if it was set for Airtel ISP you have to change
in WAN connection VPI/VCI as 0 and 32
( Airtel 1 and 32)
Then if you had entered UserId and PW of Airtel
replace with MTNL's DNS select auto assign.
Save reboot.
Para TWO:
see for settings. Almost all adsl modems
similar. Ut 300r2u - India Broadband Wiki
I have a beetel 220BXI modem and a MTNL 256kbps connection and internet is not working. Tried everything, the page http://192.168.1.1 is not even opening. I also tried 192.168.1.2.
there might be some problem with the modem because the 192.168.1.1 page is not opening.... u can lodge a complaint on 1504... the mtnl people might help you out...
