Hello Guys
Currently I am working in Indore and i am using Airtel Broadband Here But it in the next few weeks i am moving to delhi .SO last time when i contacted mtnl customer care on 1500 or 1502 not sure i had a word with them about new connection and pricing.I am thinking to opt for combo 999.They said you'll be charged 500 for landline in the beginning. Now i wanted to order new connection in the next few days so before i reach delhi i want my broadband to be installed and working as my work is related to internet serves 24*7 so i can't wait to get there and then apply for a new connection. So people in ddelhi who are using MTNL i would like some help from you. There are few queries about mtnl and new broadband connect i am living in south delhi.
1)I have seen mtnl links to order new connections online but i am not sure if i order online how much time its going to take to get in installed.
2)How much do i have to pay when the mtnl guys come to install broadband connection with or without landline because when i talked to customer care they said you'll have to take the landline its compulsory and you'll have to pay 500 for it.So i wanted to know wheather those 500rs are refundable when i close my connection in future.
3)how much do i have to pay for the new connection and modem.
4)What company modem do they provide.RIght now i am using beetel 450tc1 in indore and if they charge somewhere around 500-1000 and if its not compulsory to take modem from them i would rather opt for Netgear DGN1000 Wireless-N 150 Router With Modem.
5) If anyone from south delhi can highlight how are the connections in south delhi it would be a plus for me and how much time do they take usually to resolve a complain since i don't want a broadband that not working for weeks or else i would rather opt for a new ISP .
Any help or guidance will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,

1. I don't know about ordering online. But you can order by going to nearest Sanchaar haat. (basically a branch of MTNL).
2. I think security money is different than installation charges. So Rs 500 is part of the installation charge. and when I took a new connection, I paid Rs 1000 in two subsequent bills (each Rs 500) to cover the charges of new installation.
3. (Covered in above point). For modem its Rs 50 rental. For wifi modem its Rs 75 per month.
4. I think you can opt for your own router, and avoid rental.
5. I am in East Delhi. And wired connection of MTNL is pretty stable. Unless some cables are damaged. In which case they provide a resolution of minimum 1 day to maximum of many days.
If stability is your biggest concern, I won't opt for MTNL.

5. My friend stays in South Delhi, and the connection is quite stable there. He didn't have many problems, but a couple of time when there was a problem, linesman didn't take too long to resolve them.
The only downside is, getting hold of CC is very difficult. If there is a problem you'll have to wait for at least 15-20 minutes on the phone to get a representative to talk to you, and over that, he may not even be able to help you.
