MTNL Broadband: Ping issues

so it means mtnl is nothing but a begger in front of these companies...

nop even BSNL is much more big player than above mentioneven BSNL gives them spectrum on lease for these companies in india but BSNL don't deal with international

but y routiing is not done thru shortest path..i mean for US server y does it route thru hongkong?
n in tracert when i c analysis it tells slow response after a particular hop n that hop is generally reliance or tata

This is because Tata, Reliance and Bharti own all the transit cables from India to the rest of the world.

Its because the primary route is faulty and they are trying to fix it.
I'm on BSNL and my data travels to Tokyo first and then to USA. (just because the primary route is down)

Depends where the server is located as to how your traffic travels.

As far as I know, MTNL-BSNL, both don't have their own routing. They rent it from the big players like Airtel, TATA Communications (VSNL) and Reliance.
And the CAT B ISP, It might be a name used for their specific exchange/equipment routing area/place, something like that.

A Category B ISP is an ISP which holds a license to service only specific circles - basically speaking MTNL Mumbai can only offer services in Mumbai, and MTNL Delhi can only offer services in Delhi. They can't offer services in Tamil Nadu, for example.

A category A ISP is allowed to service anywhere in the country. BSNL, Bharti, Reliance, Tata, Hathway and Sify are all Category A ISPs from memory - but there are quite a few others.

Hopefully yes. 5km is kinda the outer-limit for DSL. 500m should definitely give you better line speed providing the copper is up to snuff.

well this is my router adsl status Downstream|UpstreamSNR Margin (dB): 14.3| 7.3 Attenuation (dB): 56.5 |32.4 Output Power (dBm): 12.7| 0.0 Attainable Rate (Kbps):5040| 1060 Rate (Kbps): 1152 |1020 can u tell wat will improve after new exchange?

Attainable Rate (Kbps):5040| 1060

Everything. Your SNR is a bit low, your attenuation is a little high. Those might become a bit better.

Your attainable Rate should increase (if it's an ADSL2+ modem, that might reach something like 18000-20000kbps if the copper between you and the exchange is good).

well my snr has been in 8 or 9 consistently..recently i noticed it went to 2.5 or even 1 n then bak up to 8 (lineman was doing something) i hav read in web some router can handle even 0 snr?

Same problems even here lol so retarded and wierd like in mumbai I get 110'ish ping and (sometimes) I get 70'ish in delhi.and I'm in mumbai.besides that, online gaming has just become impossible, you know, getting pwned by noobs ain't fun.Still If all the ISP's were to be affected, how come I see this guy from 24online ( I suppose its some cheapass local ISP) gets 23 ping at a server where I get 103 xD.and we're both from mumbai.
