Positive Points:
[*]The best ISP I have seen to date
[*]Very low and almost negligible downtime
[*]Toll free number, so you can keep calling them if problem is not solved, without worrying about additional call bills.

Negative Points:
[*]CC is not upto mark but then its same in case of most other ISPs, but then since it hardly goes down you dont have to call much
[*]CC numbers are not reachable during server problem, takes 15-20 tries. But calling is anyway useless till server problem is solved.
[*]There are 1-2 other negative points but MTNL triband for me is so stable that I do not want to add negative points and discourage others from buying the service.

Instead of falling prey for other ISPs I would recommend to simply go for this ISP

i think ur bridgemode problem is not MTNL's problem, so its not their negative point.
I read a thread here about sites not appearing randomly on bridge mode with many Triband subscribers and i guess i am not alone. However AFAIK the problem isnt solved till date. The only solution i read was reconnecting a few times.

City: New Delhi Package: 590 NU with 256Kbps speed Cost per Month: 590Rs + 50rs( modem Rent )+ 12.5% tax Positive Points: Hardly any Downtime, I hve been using MTNL BB from past 1 yr and the cases of downtime were very less.Consistent speed of about 220Kbps( 27.6 kbps download speed).:yahoo: Negative Points:Like everybody mentioned, MTNL CC Sucks!! And no option of changing plans online.General View:Its one of the best when it comes to uptime…I wud rank 8 out of 10 and can recommend mtnl BB to anyone.

A newbie here. I used to have MTNL triband connection last year but had to discontinue as I was expected to be out of India for almost the whole of 2007.
In September 2007 I registered for a new connection and was told that there's a 2 month waiting period. It been well over 5 months and I still have not an internet connection. I just spoke to a MTNL rep over the phone and he told me that they've just started servicing orders received in August and that I would have to wait for another 6 months.. 6 months??? :wall:
These guys are a joke now. How can they expect people to wait for a year for a darn broadband connection??? The irony of the situation is that there are no broadband providers in the area where I reside (Borivali (w), Mumbai) so I have to wait for these jokers to come around.
I can subscribe to Tata Indicom's data card but the speeds are low and the rates exorbitant.
Can anyone here help me?

I would suggest you to go for your local cablenet... better than nothing atleast you'd get 64kbps unlimited for something like 450 bucks.

dude!! MTNL connection is precious, very hard to get hold of it coz its in very high demand..i have been told that there are 60,000 connection pending.and by next year they r planning to ad about 1 Million more customers....
