The idea was good and theoretically if you had a line from the box it would be possible, but obviously the next time a person in your building would make a complaint for their landline/BB, the babu would open the box and notice the cross connection you made in there. So poof, no use in this plan. Its a criminal offence.

Airtel has already launched in Mumbai and is operating in many areas. Check their website for your area.

hope airtel will launch here soon in mumbai, and MTNL ki bolti band ho jaayegi!

AITREL can never hope to compete with MTNL in a Metro like Mumbai where BMC rules make it compulsary to have all cables Underground.
Besides MTNL's wiring is old when copper was cheap.Old sarkari Coporations have their advantages

Only chance is we get Wireless networks, but the speed may not be as good as the rock steady 2048mbps we are used to with MTNL

Trust me dude like i said earlier too Out of 1000's user id there is one id that will work despite of port Binding.

since both the connections are in ur name i dont think that even if they detect it they'll do much..but using one account on another line is not something that MTNL permits which is why they have implemented the port binding thingy..However, i do know that they regularly check user accounts to find out if anybody is using 2 mbps on a 256k/512 kbps unltd account and reduce their speed accordingly..this checking period can range from a week to abt a month or even more. In short even if u access 2mbps speed on a 2 mbps line by using a 256 K unltd account.. they will detect it, reduce its sync rate to 256 K and port bind it to the account which is being used on the line. So u will be stuck with 2 lines at a sync rate of 256 K , one limited another unlimited, port binded to each-others account. When this will happen no one can tell..but it will happen..sooner or later... i know that from experience...so its ur call..if u want to go thru the headache just for 1-2 months of unltd downloading @ 2mbps..

MTNL Brroadband connection

The current month session details for my phone no. shows that i am logged in even when my Router and Computer are switched off.
My MTNL Triband account is being used even when my Router is OFF.

The log also shows that the connection is on for 3-4 days continuously with log in and logout every few minutes.

I am sure that the Router and Computer have been switched off from the mains. but still the log shows that i am connected at that time.

Has anyone else faced the same problem.??
I have complained to the MTNL in writing. and they have said something about port binding

How can one check if anyone else is logged in to my account?

shirish

Take a screenshot or print your log and keep it with you. Tomorrow first thing in the morning go to your local MTNL office and complain about it before they charge you for everything. Also change your password.
