If you have Logmein, install it there, and ask your brother to leave your PC on at night, and you can remote login to the machine and run speedtest.net.
Else, ask him to stay up :)

Query for people on the new 450 rupees unlimited plan. I was previously on Rs 395 unlimited plan and as per the plan change now it is Rs. 450 for 512 kbps from 8am to 6pm, 1 Mbps from 6 pm to 12 am but I am not sure whether it is 2 Mbps from 12 am to 8pm. I am not at home currently so I don't know but my brother did confirm that it is 1 Mbps in evening but he could not confirm if it was 2Mbps at night after 12 am.

Can anyone confirm ?

Got this:

Funny thing is that changes were made 3 days back and they are informing now.

WHAT A PLANNING!!!

What more... they used BMP image for this!! So much waste of bandwidth!

Attention : MTNL Email users

Some changes have been done in MTNL Email system wef 28-11-2012. MTNL Email users using a E-mail Client Software like Microsoft Outlook / Outlook Express etc for sending Emails, need to do the following changes in the configuration of Outlook / Outlook express etc.

In the Account name or Username field, the complete Email-Id [[email protected]] is to be given in place of only the username.

For Example, if a user has an email address [email protected] , then he / she should enter [email protected] in his / her Account name [username] field instead of only giving the username “abc” . The screenshot below illustrates the same.

The inconvenience caused to the users is regretted please.

I am using Yahoo fetch POP mail feature.Since it did not report any error, I suppose old method (just userid) is working too.

I have the Mtnl Mumbai 450 plan which was earlier 395 rupees. As per Mtnl website I should be getting 2 Mbps atNight from 12 am to 8 am but I am getting only 1.3 Mbps in this time period. Should I be contacting Mtnl to ask if there is anything wrong with the settings from their side for my account ?

Whats ur sync rate in modem ADSL status page? It shud be atleast 2mbps regardless of time of the day.

I used to see them asking people to vote on their website.I cant see that anymore though

It's this popularity/monopoly that we are stuck with 2 mbps speeds since past 6-7 years.

:Boy Heart Borken:

I used to see them asking people to vote on their website.

I cant see that anymore though
