MTNL Broadband: Shift to Bridged Mode on Sterlite SAM300 AX

Hi, This tutorial is mainly for those people who don't know how to create a Bridged Mode for ADSL Modem Sterlite SAM300 AX

1. Open the Router page (192.168.1.1)

2. Click on quick start and then Run Wizard


3. Enter the password which u want ( i have entered the default password admin)

4. Next

5. select Bridge mode

6. Next

7. Next

8.Close

9. Now select interface setup ---->

10. Select Lan And Disable DHCP and Save



After having followed all these above steps. We need to create a new connection which supports Bridge mode.

Here's how you do it

1. Go to Control Panel--> Network Connections---> Create a New connection

2. A New connection Wizard will pop up. You need to configure it so as to get an access to internet.

3. Select the option "Connect to Internet and click on Next

4. Choose the option "Setup the Connection Manually then click on next.

5. Choose the option "Connect using Broadband connection that requires username and password

6. Enter the ISP name

7. Enter your Useraccount Details(In case of MTNL its the Telephone number as your username and password you are using everywhere.)

8. Thus your bridge mode has setup and ready surf in it. Set up a shortcut connection and desktop and hit connect.

Here's some settings you need to make when you disable the DHCP

1. Go to Control Panel--> Network Settings

2. Click on the Actual MTNL connection(Main connection) Not the newly created one and select properties

3. Then, on the General Tab select the Internet Protocol( Tcp/Ip) and click on Properties

4. On the properties pages, enter your Ip address and other details. In this case i am using Open dns. You can also Mtnl's Dns server address.

Note: You should have an up-to-date antivirus software and a good firewall to block out threats as it does up all your ports.
