Some highlights are:
Now a prepaid SIM will cost Rs 100 plus Rs 49 first recharge to make it a lifetime connection.
Call rates for both voice calls and video calls are lowered are now equal. These call rates were insane to start with.
Cost of data download is now less than the cost on Reliance netconnect broadband plus (EV-DO). Rs. 99 for 100MB download and Rs. 250 for 0.5 GB download is affordable now.
I am actually thinking of taking a 3G SIM to try with my Nokia N95 handset.
Auctions for 3G spectrum have been postponed by government once again and now 3G by other operators is expected to launch in 2011 at the earliest. So, MTNL is the only 3G GSM network that is available for now.
