The 849 is only worth it if your surfing needs are met during the day...but the prob in most houses is that the number of users are more than one and that leads to exceeding the limit what with you tube and stuff being browsed all the time!

^ lol tell me about exceeding limit. i have already used up 1950 MB for january. :(im thinking of other alternatives, but i need the 2mbps. so i was thinking of getting another connection from another isp.

If you can do most of your heavy duty stuff in the night hours, perhaps 849NU plan might suit you better.
Another possible work around is to subscribe to Aksh IPTV. It is only 100 bucks a month and MTNL has to UP your internet bandwidth to support IPTV.
That way you should have good bandwidth and unlimited use. Even if you don't use IPTV at all, it is probably much better to pay the 100 bucks extra than to pay for higher speed unlimited connection.
This is only theoretical. Has anyone here any first hand experience of whether you get better speed if you subscribe to IPTV?

IPTV and BB work separately. And, as people have mentioned elsewhere, IPTV subscribers get only 256kbps.

That is in Delhi. Not in Mumbai. IPTV subscribers get more speed.

i am already using 849NU plan. :P

the 1.25gb limit is ridiculous. every time i exceed my limit by around 800 mb (this time too much :() and i never use youtube during the day time. only normal surfing. :@

Exactly viralbug U should shift to the unlimited plan and then hope and pray they forget to change your speed

I too have exceeded the 1.2 GB this month also....i am now looking for another ISP which has 256kbps unlimited.

dunno if i should take the risk. if they indeed do change the speed, then ill be stuck with 256 kbps. :(
