I'm planning to switch to MTNL phone-line (RJ11) broadband. While using its internet, can a landline phone be simultaneously used for calling (in different room, i.e. different RJ11 socket)? -without affecting internet and call.
What feature(s) do I look in ADSL modem+routers for this support?
We've 2 landlines and an ADSL modem, all in separate rooms. Using splitter on the 2 landlines but not on the modem. Everything working fine except line seems to be overloaded as the signal in one of the landlines has become dim; MTNL technicians were also warning against using 2 landlines. No problem in internet.
In this setup instead of splitter, a single output filter will also do the job but such filter wasn't available on ebay.in and at my local shops.
I understood the functioning of splitter from here: http://www.accesscomms.com.au/Reference/ADSL_filter.htm
