in pppoe, the ports are blocked. And u need torrent ports to be open in the router to get optimum speeds. One way is that u do port forwarding, where u open particular ports (it did not work very well for me). The other option is bridged mode (where all the ports are open).

I've put my comp fixed IP in DMZ which is as good as direct connection so all ports are open.

One thing I can recall it since the introduction of DHT network in bitcomet it has started giving problems. I remember using ver 0.58 giving better speeds than 0.71.

bitcomet it think there is something wrong, its dosent work propely and i think transimits lots of messges, even u torrent emails , go for u torrent its best and lightweight, regrding speed problems, i have statred using torrents 4 months before, most people dont understand how it works, they add more than 2 to 4 torrents at one time and the speed gets share by all 4 downloads, its ok to download 4 at one time but when there is less speed like only 20% of total speed, so it can be 100% speed when shared by 4, but when u r downloading famous or high ranked torrents shared by many at ame time y may get more than 130/kbs, then download one at a time, and queued others, so atlest when u wake u may have one complited with high speed, and regarding bridge mode and poope, i think soemone should do research, most of private torrents have high speed,

it also depends on the tracker. for me, no matter how heavily seeded the torrent may be, it takes a while to reach upto 150 KB/s and goes upto a max of 160-170 KBps. but on a private tracker, the speed goes above 200 KBps very quickly even if its less seeded.

i think tracker is also reponsible for slow speed, because it updates every sec.sometimes i del some non working trackers.

its weird that nodoby felt this before, mtnl gives us 2 mbps download speed and 256 kbps upload speed. torrents as you all know require uploading also almost equally as downloading. if we dont upload, this will kill the share ratio, and will slow the download speeds.so, suppose you download 1500 mb in 1 night thru lets say, azeurus, and you have to upload the 90 % of it to maintain the share ratio, now what do u do, considering uploading speed is 256 kbps.what i do is run uploads thru the daytime. any other solution ??

share ratio, i never seen in public torrents, in private it exist, but i uploadsome 150 to 200 mb for 700 mb., i use utorrent,

what do u mean public and private, maintaining share ratio is like soul of torrent downloading.

@karansuper... what is the speed u get at home when u download from microsoft.com? Does the speed cross 200KBPS?

Oh yes it goes really high upto 230-240kbps , not only microsoft but many other sites also , but stilll not that good on torrents.

private means some websites allow registrations and then u could download, public means free.,

ok, share ratio is maintinaed in bittorrent clients, i guess, and u have to take care of that...
