/members/james77/There is no compulsion that you should use MTNL supplied modems only.If you can use any other modem and connect to Internet, surrender the modem ( if taken on rent). Get a written receipt. Then you save modem rent. In case you have problem in Internet connection MTNL will blame the modem for the fault !If you had purchased it , take action as you like. Keep it as standby, or sell it , or donate it ( Me ?!!!!).

The Isssue is my PC at home is quite old and it does not have an Ethernet Port I will have to use only USB. so Now see what I will try to do Connect the MTNL wire into the ADSL Router then a uSB cable from ADSL router goes to the PC and then a Ethernet wire from ADSL router to WIFI Router and thne I will try accessing the WIFI internet from my Laprop. Do you think this will work. If it does. Do let me know what all configurations I have to do on my PC as well as my Laptop.On my PC the ADSL Router is already connected via USB cable and I am able to Acees internet on my PC Model Numbers of my Routers ADL Router D-Link DSL 502TModel Number of WIFI Router D LINK DI 524

yes it will work...since you are using the adsl router to dial(i suppose cause you are using usb and also need wifi).. then connect a cable from the LAN port of the adsl to the LAN Port of the WIFI!!
