Guys if the below article is true then broadbands going to change bigtime in India .. if this is even 20% true then forget all existing players, any new co launching with their grand plans etc because this will be the ULTIMATE :-

After the acquisition of Infotel Broadband Ltd by Mukesh Ambani?s Reliance (RIL), the rumour was there in market that Mukesh?s Reliance will come up with the most speedy Internet connection in India. As Indian market is still waiting for proper implementation of 3G network by major players, Reliance has started testing 4G connections.
4G in India on a testing phase: 80 Mbps Download Speed

As per some initial reports, RIL team at Navi Mumbai started trials of 4G connection and got download speed of 80 Mbps and upload speed of 20 Mbps. It is way ahead than current 3G connection of 3.1 Mbps or 7.2 Mbps. Tata Indicom (Docomo) and Reliance Communication (Anil Ambani?s ) also stsrted giving 21 Mbps download speed on supported devices. Reliance is using Ericsson equipment to test this 4G network. As the above testing results are in ideal scenario, that may drop to 40 to 50 Mbps depending on the system load and distance from the nearest tower etc.

As wireless Internet is at boom in India and other parts of world but still we are way behind most of the western countries. We are still waiting for the proper coverage of 3G network when Smartphone makers started selling 4G phones in countries like US and UK. But finally we are getting good news on Wireless Internet connectivity, as Reliance is expected come up with good plans in future for such fast Internet connections.

Reliance is currently having 22 of 44 licenses of broadband wireless access (BWA) spectrum which were auctioned in June 2010. As they need to start the implementation in less than a year, so we can expect to get the service by March ? May 2011.

Hope to get better wireless data transfer option in future. Share your thoughts on this 80 Mbps 4G connection trails by Reliance. Do you think, Mukesh Ambani?s Reliance can come up with better plans than current 3G offers?

Atleast speeds are definitely bound to change if they adopt the LTE for deployment from start which they are testing. But the real question would be the usage in GB that they will provide. LTE will definitely bring a whole new experience in wireless broadband. But if we look around th world with the LTE offers, in US, VERIZON has start its LTE services with $50 for 5 gb & $80 for 10gb limits on speed ranging 5-12 mb/s(no unlimited plans). In japan DOCOMO is looting $80 for 5 gb limit as they are looting in 3G here. The major change that will change our experience in every form of broadband will be the change in international bandwidth prices or we will continue to suffer as we are suffering today. Lets hope they does something like what happened in 2005 when they launched mobile for 500rs!!!

we will see "80 Mbps connection with 2GB or 10GB bandwidth limit" ? lolbut well its RIL , i would expect unmetered plans with FUP of 1TB atleast :p

yes there is a remote possibility that they may offer atleast 3 - 5 mbps unlimited plans .. right now we are stuck in 2mb unlimited since quite a long time . hopefully we get that extra 1-3 mbps in a year or so .. ill be more than happy if i get 3 - 5 mbps unlimited connection ..

From where are you getting 2mbps unlimited plans becoz we can't find even 1mbps plans without FUP from 90 % of the ISPs. Today only MTNL, BSNL 3G & Reliance wired broadband are offering plans without crappy FUPs. & they don't cover even 20 % of broadband users. All of them are stuck at 256 unlimited or 512nlimited at max.

from what i remember they were planning to initially target the corporate segment. of course, consumer segment is also highly profitable and serviceable when it comes to wireless internet technologies.

Wheres mgcarley?? He is the best one to post a good opinion on this!! Especially the feasibility & the future of this!!

as per him unlimited plans are not possible , he will start comparing NZ/AUS rates and show how indian rates are still good

he wont compare other parts of the world, which are much better connected and have much cheaper rates

i guess jus few days back it was started sweden is the first county to start 4G commerciallyspeed upto 80mbps and ten times the current avg 3g speed of 8mbps!!!in india my be atleast in 2015???

i thought there are already 4G services and mobile phones available in the US market :)
