I am pretty much decided to stick to SBI for this. I have used their web and app for dad's account. It's not great and there are shit load of annoyances. But I doubt any other government bank would have a better tech stack. Any feedback is welcome.
My main requirement is to create and manage FDs and some funds for emergencies and keep it as paperless as possible. Basically I want to avoid going to bank for things like renewing/breaking FDs, getting statements etc etc. I have a branch locally at walking distance so visiting the branch is not really a problem but it's just not desirable.
I was not happy with how dad was struggling with SBI which means I had to deal with a lot of their shit. Eventually he also opened an account on Indus and he mostly uses it for daily transactions. I plan to keep my private banking accounts and use them for regular uses. SBI is going to be a backup account for when shit hits the fan and I need a safe space to dump everything.
