A high-school teacher in Tbilissi, Manana has been married for twenty-five years to Soso. Together, they share their apartment with Manana's parents, their two children, and their son-in-law. They appear to be a happy and close-knit family, until, on the night of her fifty-secondth birthday celebration, Manana shocks everyone when she announces that she has decided to leave the family apartment to live by hereself.
