My new Daikin AC is so loud because of fan speed. Advice needed

I recently bought a 1.5 ton Daikin AC FTKL50UV16V and the fan is so loud in this AC. I have some noise sensitivity problems but even otherwise it sounds like a planr taking off at the medium and high fan speed settings. I can only bear it at the lowest and quietest setting. The seller insists that's just how the model is but everyone in my house agrees that it's much louder than other ACs.

Does anyone else have the same AC and can confirm that the fan noise is just very loud ag the higher fan speeds? Or whether this is a faulty unit or they've messed up the installation. Thanks a lot.
 
New Daikins are indeed quiet loud. Mine are around two years old with single flap and they start with quite some noise and settle with noise as well. It's impossible to say if your unit has the same noise levels. I suggest to get Daikin engineer to visit and check if everything is already with the unit. Mine are in living room so noise is not really a problem as no one is sleeping there. I would hate to have it in my bedroom though.

I think Daikin is doing a lot of cost cutting by reducing size of the inner unit and offering a single flap which results in noiser units.

My old Daikin was very quiet but ended up becoming a pain wrt noise after 5-6 years of minimal usage. I spent a lot of money trying to fix the problem but eventually decided to replace it with a LG.
 
daikins are a real pain in the a## had to get the cooling gas refilled twice, once under warranty.
they have reduced the build quality badly, also the service engineer broke my lid locks its a mess.


have a 2 year old Daikin and it starts with a loud noise as @Sushubh wrote, and calms in a minute.
but this sound is normal my carrier is more louder than this.
I don't think yours is a faulty unit anyways get it checked by a engineer.
 
House at the back has 3-4 Daikin compresser units installed outside facing our side. Very big units. It's crazy loud in my room and they run it through the day and night during Summers. Very annoying to sleep coz of their ACs. 😒

Folks really should place the bigger units on the roof like we did 🤪

My LG outside unit is crazy quiet. Indoor unit is also pretty good. Except the flap make some noise when in motion mode. Haven't risked getting them aligned so far as I just run them pointing at top.
 
Registering a complaint has to be the first course of action, as sellers typically deny the existence of the problem to begin with.

Off topic but quite relevant; why didn't you consider Samsung WindFree AC?
 
@Sushubh My issue isn't with the compressor or the outside unit at all. It's with the noise the inside unit makes when you increase the fan speed. It's directly related to the wind blowing speed. Sounds like yours is a different issue?

Can't seem to find anyone else facing such a problem which is why I'm wondering if it might be an issue with my unit rather than the model overall. Maybe i should get a Daikin service technician to come and inspect it. I have a lot of health problem and am disabled so my elderly parents are being forced to run around arranging this for me. It's a real nuisance.

LG is best its super quite both outdoor and indoor but it may feel a little underpowered when cooling the room first time. The outdoor unit is so good you have to touch it to know its running.

@blahhobbit yes. this is the only option available to you right now. if there is something really wrong with the indoor unit, company representative should logically confirm it and since it is under warranty, it becomes their responsibility to resolve. do keep realistic hopes in the end.

forgot to mention this already. check the reviews on flipkart/Amazon about this model. might give an idea if this is a issue with the model. though these companies have multiple models with small variation in actual model name though i suppose... it shouldn't matter as the issue would exist in all minor variants.
