They should have done proper testing before selling them. I am sure they knew about this problem.

Send this feedback to Tata Sky+, they may consider and update the software. :cool2:
By the way that is not a big issue as most of the movies which are shown in the movie are constantly repeated in the following and i record the same ........

This is a big issue.
Movies are anyways repeated so no need to record at all.
But what if somebody is recording a match or a program which would be telecast only once. If the program is approaching to end (5-10 min remaining) and if power goes off for 1-2 min. Then new recording after power-resume would over-write all earlier part losing entire earlier recording :S

IF that is the case then we need to record the highlights........:D Any ways i need to contact TS CC on this issue but i believe this issue can be sorted in futher software upgradation.......

I think, recording is controlled by the EPG; ireespective of the programme's actual duration, recording is done as per the EPG setting , plus pre/post time settings. I am not sure what will happen if the broadcast programme is different from the title shown in the EPG. After power failure and power on, epg shows details not available for quite some time, before epg is updated. So far, I have got 'recording failed for unknown reasons' message only once; I will try different combinations of simulated power failure - in the middle of a programme, almost at the end of the time slot.

Yes PVR is controlled by EPG. EPG puts a marker for Start & Stop time on particular channel (irrespective of actual programme running) and (any) programme within that time gets recorded

After power failure and power on, epg shows details not available for quite some time, before epg is updated.
As I mentioned above STB has received instruction to record particular channel at given time, so once PVR service is active after reboot, it will start recording

Please try and let us all know.

The recording is based on the time on a particular channel and so will record within that time irrespective of the program.
