let me explain my situation here first..
we were living in chandigarh from the past 6 years and i was first using dial up,then bsnl broadband.. then finally i used this company Connect broadband.. for 4 years i guess.. i can't remember lol..
anyways i was on 1mbps plan without any FUP this plan is closed now.. and at that time reliance did not introduced any good plans their plans had FUP.. and low speeds.. and trust me we were living in a paush area and almost everyday yes everyday there was a diffent guy at our door asking if we want reliance or not i was so pissed ! i was happy with the 1mbps plan.. well that was the best plan in the city so why would'nt i be ?
so from last couple of months we shifted to zirakpur.. and guess what we only have connect wireline broadband here but now they do not provide any unlimited plans i did not have any other option.. so i subscribed for their best plan..

1200+tax

2 Mbps till 25 GB, 256 Kbps after 25 GB http://connectzone.in/broadband/hometariffs.php
every month yes every month i bypass the FUP limit and 256kbps really ? you can not even use youtube at that speed it useless..
right now i'm on 256kbps :'(
i contacted the customer care and they said we do not have any information regarding this.. f**k then i contacted their appellate officer via email 7 days have past and no one has replied to the email..
i also contacted reliance broadband and their customer care contacted them via email and paid a visit to their store i even told them i will pay all the cost for the wire .. but no i can't enjoy their thunder plans..
so the thing is reliance wireline broadband is actually available in zirakpur but only in once society they have a class A license so why don't they lay the f**king cable here ?
BSNL EVDO is also does not work here no evdo towers here.. there is one other provider called zylog they give 15GB at the same price but it is permanent wireless connection.. plus they have very bad reputation here..
so what should i do here ? i want atleast 50GB BW @ 2mbps
people here are dying to enjoy internet at a faster speed plus if it is cheaper then what will stop you from switching your current ISP ?
comone ppl what can i do here please help me out..

Easy with the profanities man!
If there are no options available, I guess you can take two 25GB connections :P

hahaha lmfao dude .. and that would cost how much ? 50% of indians does not earn that much money in a month i hope you know that ! yes it is true ! we're living in metro cities.. chd and zrk is not one of them ... but atleast we're under the shadows of those cities.. but have you seen the other places ? well i have ! these days when i go to sabji mandi i'm always in a fucjin shock dude.. the poor can't even afford fruits ! makes me sick ! ahh the TATA TEA TVC is coming on the TV we have to do something regarding this.. edit : hey man there is something wrong with the css of this forum.. the quote is not in it's css.. if u know what i mean.. and when u quick edit it.. there you see the quoted text in it's css..

ok. here is the thing. i pay 2400 per month to get 175GB of data at 4mbps. I am lucky to have an option. You cannot really expect these ISPs to provide plans that are based on the per capita income of this country. Broadband access is not something that can be considered vital for living. It is more of a Lifestyle thing right now.
Cribbing is not going to help. Airtel gets away with charging 1000 bucks for 15GB of data these days. You are probably getting a much better deal from Connect.
Also, there are people living in smaller cities who have to pay 3G rates for bandwidth. Some have to make do with EDGE speeds. You at least have the option to have a wired broadband service provider offering something better.

yeah i got the point bro.. but i feel like ISP's are looting the entire country .. something needs to be done.. the thing is everyone wants a good wireline broadband connection at a reasonable price.. look at reliance.. Beam and some other providers.. and why is 256kbps declared as broadband ? with QOS u'll get what 35kbps thats what i get.. can't watch youtube.. java applets taking forever to load.. gmail won't load and what not ! i'm fed up !

1. You really do not need to QUOTE the latest post... Do you? Quotes were designed to refer to older posts in the thread.2. Yes, broadband needs to be cheap. And our government is not doing much. Telecom Policy was updated last year and 512kbps should have been the minimum right now. But still not implemented. In the end, you are stuck with what you have. Just for reference. I was stuck in Panchkula with Sify Broadband around 8 years ago. Guess what I had to do? Move to Gurgaon to get Airtel. There are similar stories from other people on the forum. People actually rent places based on internet availability these days. Things are so bad.So, yes. I feel your pain bro. :)

we also lived in panchkula for 4 years :) in sector 21..
well i don't know how you'll feel but from the last few days a thought is coming in my mind of Becoming an ISP..
last night i run ping on the entire connect ip range and guess what how many pings were responded ? more than 5,000 some were from ludhiana but come on man.. i started it at 11pm and it finished at 4 am and i was shocked with the results..
so a rough figure..
say a user is paying 1000 per month.. then
5000x1000= 50,00,000 per month.. da f**k ! yes da f**k dude.. this is a small company...
what about airtel and other big players ? i can't even imagine the zero's

I am guessing you have no idea how hard it is to run an internet service here in India. Licenses are crazy expensive and laying down cables? Costing can come to a crore or two per kilometer in metro areas. Probably more. So, trust me, it is not as easy as it would seem.

i have no idea ? well i know everything about it.. but leave this topic for now.. i would like to know what can WE,THE PEOPLE do regarding these thiefs ? an application to the minister won't do anything i know that.. contacting ISP's won't help either.. so what can i do ? sit back and let them take my money ? damn ! everybuddy wants this very bad.. nobuddy knows what can they do about it ! people are surely not going to march on the streets for this.. lol although i would love to be part of such thing even if i have to fly to some other place.. We Need Internet Revolution !! just like Green Rrevolution..
