Need clarification or wakeup Tata Sky SOUTH Zone users

Hi,
Iam recently checked Tata Sky and Airtel Digital package, big surprise for their packages.
1. Sports pakage for ESPN, STAR and Star Cricket TataSky charged 65 rupees where as Digital Tv charged only 45 rupees.
2. Life style gold package for tata sky top up available in normal package called South Mega.
3. Most important cost impact very less and can easily satisfy with South Mega package in digital tv where as Tata sky lacks to provide some good channels like WM, NDTV, BBC world etc..
4. Picture quality is good both TATASky and digital tv but in future channel increasing provision only for Digital tv not tata sky.
These points initiating to change my DTH box.

Well at present if you see dishtv is the best, and with the launch of new packages they are really on top. Like here as you said in Tata sky you need to spend Rs.65 for 3 sports channels and Rs.20 for ten sports= Rs.85 for these 4 sports channel.

In dishtv all these 4 sports + Zee sports is available only at the cost of Rs.45+ tax and also all if you have taken south silver pack then all these channels are available in base pack as well.

2. Even Most of the channels that are available in Tata sky Life style gold pack are available in dishtv in base packs .

3. Also the cost of new packages are very economical as compared with all other DTH here dishtv is offering max channels at lowest cost.
 
Yes, I knew.But, Tata Sky and DishTv have MPEG2 technology. So, they cant add more channels like they provide all tamil channels in future, it will difficult to provide where as Airtel have no problem.Also watching with LCD (OLED technology come soon) Airtel is better currently apart from TataSky, i tried recently with all DTH in showroom.In my clarification, Airtel and DishTv provide good package with lesser price but Tata Sky have theri own network and received more money from subscribers.So, i think to switch over again. But, problem is they can change package at any manner without any information and makes more suffer to ours.In TataSky, i cant see any Hindi Channels with south packages, if adding channels in low cost missing NGC, discovery and more.But, Airtel provide some topup, it helps nicely.You can think while reading for SUN Dth, I know their can provide with low cost if they have Telecom Ministry position again and provide STB free with color tv in future. Already color tv free in tamilnadu
 
but dish tv sucks in cust.support,website and pic quality that makes me worry or otherwise i would have changed to DISH TV:mad:

Also found more on hidden cost in Tata Sky compared other DTH providers but im considering only with AIRTEL, may be we will compare after D2H (Videocon).

Again an other example , Fox History, NGC, 9X and Star World included where as TATASky nothing their except sun channels all are free.

Please elaborate as to what do you mean by hidden costs. You cannot make any wild allegation. Also, Tata is a well respected name. I will not comment about reliance. You don't have to trust someone . In Tata Sky everything is clarified on thier site. All T & Cs as well as FAQs.

Thats what am need to change but there is no buyback or smply to change card facility. It makes an another disadvantage for rented/lease house ppls. Till time is there to change......

but these are not HIDDEN COSTS the real meaning of "hidden costs" is """Expense not normally included in the purchase price of an equipment or machine""" . The consumer who's buying Tata Sky DTH dth for the first time is made aware of the packages available along with add-ons . Now its upto to him to purchase it or go for a cheaper dth.

tata sky are maybe looting consumers by charging higher prices, but thats not entirely wrong :P . All the corporations are here to make money believe it or not.
 
I am using it for nearly 3 years.........as far as i am concerned i dont think i am puring sand on my head...........it would happend to me if i had opted other DTH......probably except Airtel DTH......and this my opinion.......

It doesn't matter whether dishtv have MPEG 2 or MPEG 4, with MPEG 2 still dishtv is the only one giving maximum channel 240 then any other DTH. HAVING mpeg 4 and their was a lot of scope to add new channels on dishtv.

At Present Dishtv is having best available packages for north and south both and their packages are much balanced and well mix of channels and are very economical.

So, i think to switch over again. But, problem is they can change package at any manner without any information and makes more suffer to ours.

Even in dishtv also ala-carte packs are quite economical and also dishtv have maximum ala-carte packs so that one can choose channels of their choice as well.

You can think while reading for SUN Dth, I know their can provide with low cost if they have Telecom Ministry position again and provide STB free with color tv in future. Already color tv free in tamilnadu
