Need clarification or wakeup Tata Sky SOUTH Zone users

I need to go With AIRTEL or not and am not considering DishTv, both Tata Sky ans dishTv have mpeg2 format and cant go with last longer.

In my opnion Tata have partner with Sky, then they can privide at lest cost for thei channels. Where as Airtel provide less then tatasky, not only airtel can also include DishTv.
Also, we raised voice for Airtel is costlier than tatasky when they launched time but currently they provice better package with good price and latest technology comapred other service provicders.

We are satifying with brand name not with service if using TataSky in future.

but anything can happen anytime and wait for sometimes dont change to any DTH service from ur current provider then u will surely suffer a lot :cool2:

Any DTH provider is a pain in the..It's better you wait by paying the charges or switch to cable.. If not for good picture quality and sound, and may be customer service, you still have the freedom of choosing the channels you want to pay for!Then switch to a provider who best suits your need..Kunal Janu

Yes, DTH is always better than cable. What I would suggest is that look at all providers and select which is best for you. Then, make a decision. Also, don't forget to go through the threads for other DTH providers on this forum. This will give you an idea of weakness of each brand. and prepare you for what to expect too

I didnt know that cable providers give you an option of choosing specific channels. they serve a bigger community thru one cable source and its not possible to individually serve seperate channels for each subscriber. cable's cheap thou.... no rain blackouts, but if the service of the vendor's not good, then you're fcuked for good. TS's 24x7 guaranteed broadcast . Yeah like mirzarocx said, look at all providers and select which is best for you and your budget

Thanks for your valuable comments.But, one more doubt about pricing for DTH operators. For Tata Sky partner with Sky (one of biggest channels telecasters in the world), in TATSky DTH charged more for their own/partners channels. It be sure to reduce the cost and increase volumes of custmers, but they wont to do.Whereas other DTH providers like Zee and Airtel charged very less for Sky privided channels and also meet with fine pacakges.Till sure money making only motto for TataSky especially TATA brand, waiting for TRAI (hopefully one of doll organization in the country) activity or to move other DTH providers for sure.

I dont agree.. All DTH content providers charge more .. DTH is only for the rich.. I would be paying Rs.450 pm if not for the annual pack.. and some free gift vouchers courtesy giftmate.. I have subscription till august, and thus the time for Tata to show improvement in customer satisfaction..

By Cable operators, i meant in the CAS areas, if your city is not under CAS then I'd suggest DTH only if u can afford!

I dont think DTH for rich peoples. Its one of necessity for CAS applied areas. Also, the price more differ and favor channels also to paid (le carte) more.Again, ill example: In Airtel they provide NGL and FOXHistory in normal package (it may have more also). Most one sports package for Star, ESPN and Star Sports they charged only 45 rupees.Whereas TATSKY is partner of Sky and charged more than other DTH provider and package not reliable for anyone.

I dont think Tata Sky packages are not reliable. I think they have some very good packages. I think the CAS will be extended to more areas. So people would have to start opting for DTH. I have seen cable in NON CAS areas and the quality is very very bad. Any DTH is better than that.

If any south indian who is based on delhi, bombay and calcuttal.......i am sure he will opt for most of the tamil or respective regional channels along with hindi channels with infotainment channel along with news channels, movie channels and sports channels........by any means i believe they will susbcribe atleast 50 pay channels on ala carte basis which means he will end in paying Rs. 300 for pay channels and Rs. 100 cable rent......put together comes down to Rs. 400.......Its only in chennai where in all the tamil, english news channels are coming at free of cost.........its not the same case with other parts of CAS areas where cas is made mandatory..........
