I was going to go for same modem/router, but instead went for TP-Link 300Mbps modem/router/wifi . works fine for me out of box.... maybe you need to give settings to xdsl ... he the expert.

Follow these steps ........
1. Open the configuration website by typing ‘http://192.168.1.1/’ in the address bar of your web browser (Internet Explorer or Firefox or Chrome) and press the 'Enter' key.
2. Enter username and password which is “admin” for both by default.
3. Click on "Advance setup" from the menu on the left hand side.
4. Click on the 'Add' button.
5. Enter values for VPI (BSNL and MTNL) = “0” and for VCI (BSNL) = “35" and (MTNL) = “32".
6. The other fields should be:
Select the DSL Latency: Path 0
Select the DSL Link Type: EoA
Select Connection mode: Default
Encapsulation Mode: LLC/SNAP –BRIDGING
Service category : UBR Without PCR
Select the IP QoS Scheduler Algorithm to Strict Priority
7. After entering the above data, click on 'Apply/Save' button.
8. Click on 'WAN Service' button on the menu on the left hand side.
9. Click on 'Edit' button.
10. Enter your PPP username and password (For MTNL, Username is your DSL line phone number and Password is your CA number. These are mentioned on your bill). "Authentication mode" should be set to "AUTO". Leave all other options on this page unchecked.
11. Click on 'Next' button and then click on 'Apply/Save' button.
Your 2750U should work now!

Guys ( @x720 ) Help me out.. Bought a new D-Link ADSL modem + Router. It has some complex interface. Setting up my MTNL Mumbai with bundled CD doesn't work. The internet light remains red, though connection works on the older modem. It has the Indian firmware version. Here are the screenshots :

Do you have an option to select UBR without PCR? What does connection status show?

Tried the wizard?

yes tried UBR without PCR and the wizard too... the internet light remains Red somehow!! could the modem be faulty ?? ( think unlikely)

Hmm. Hard to say then without actually going through the interface. I'm sure you've connected the wires properly :p
Username PW verified? Does the username have an @a, have you put that in appropriate field? Disable 3G backup?

If bought from flipkart, get it replaced with a w8968?
