Need Help: Replacing Excitel Optilink ONU with VSOL V2802RH + TP-Link BE6500

Current Setup:
  • ISP: Excitel
  • Provided ONU: Optilink OP-XONT71110AC
  • Firmware Version: V2.1.02-240416-OPL
Target Setup:
  • Own ONU: VSOL V2802RH (2.5G XPON)
  • Router: TP-Link BE6500 (WiFi 7)
The Issue:I am trying to replace the ISP-provided unit with my own VSOL ONU and TP-Link router. I managed to remove the restrictions on the Optilink ONU, which now allows me to create, delete, and edit WAN profiles.

I configured the Optilink to Bridge Mode, but I am unable to dial up the PPPoE connection from the TP-Link router. The authentication simply fails or times out.

Troubleshooting Done So Far:

  1. Unlocked the Optilink UI to allow WAN profile editing.
  2. Changed the Optilink profile to Bridge Mode.
  3. Connected the TP-Link WAN port to the Optilink LAN port.
  4. Entered correct PPPoE credentials in the TP-Link.
Questions:

  • Does Excitel enforce MAC Binding? Do I need to clone the Optilink’s MAC address to my TP-Link router?
  • Are there specific VLAN IDs I need to tag on the bridge profile (or the router) for Excitel?
  • For the VSOL V2802RH, do I need to clone the GPON Serial Number (SN) or LOID from the Optilink unit for it to register with the OLT properly?
Any guidance on the correct settings for Excitel in this specific bridge scenario would be appreciated.
 
I don't even understand, if you have VSOL, why are you even bothering with Optilink? And, yes, you need to clone Optilink's GPON_SN
Now, since you already managed to remove restrictions from Optilink, some of the values should be easily exportable
 
Check for logs in each case.
  • If your TP-Link logs say "PPP authentication invalid/error," etc. It's a MAC binding issue.
  • If your TP-Link logs say "no PPP server found or timed out," check for a VLAN. Check GPON status on the ONU as well, just to be sure (Should say "authenticated".)
  • If you are using your own ONU, then you require the following: LOID, and Serial (with passwords.)
 
So. I'm able to get vsol authenticated. It's showing EPON registered and certified. I have copied the pon SLNO from genexie router. But now I'm not able to discover any pppoe servers, from my down stream router. it's always leading to pdao timeout. I'm using a bridge wan profile on vsol. I tried with both 1.1.9 firmware and 1.1.7 firmware.

Anyone any ideas to proceed ?
