Need to buy a Wifi Modem for a MTNL Broadband....

Hi Guys.... well this is my first post so ill start straight away ...I have a MTNL BB connection...now i want to setup a wifi connecion. So i dialed Mtnl's customer care and what i got was they will charge 500 for the router and 25 rs + taxes each month as a rent....Now my question is Can i buy my own router... i mean wifi router ( currently i have Beetel 220bxi from my prev airtel connection). So if i buy a wifi router can i set it up by all by myself? if yes, please give details And one more thing, pls recommend any good routers under 2k...

Before buying a new piece I suggest you try getting the old unit from Airtel to work on MTNL. I am sure it will work.
