First they had non-WiFi Huawei, then WiFI Included Huawei and now this. Seems very similar to the path taken when deployment of VDSL (vFiber), where they had Huawei first and later on Binatone.
Today Airtel linemen cum tech people installing fiber in a new area confirmed that within 3 months, they will replace all DSL lines in Lucknow with fiber and my area will be converted by November 1st week, but I am taking it with a pinch of salt and expect 1-2 months; however, this new ONT+router is giving me new headaches.
@rajil.s which area you live? You can also opt for ACT if they have coverage in your area as I have ACT and Airtel both right now. ACT is as rock solid as Airtel for now.
If you are keen on Airtel FTTH only, then check for fiber coverage in your area. If it is not there, wait for another 3 months maximum; however, today again one Airtel lineman I met told me about the uncertainty of new fiber coverage areas as he said the budget allocation for new fiber will only come in December.
The plans in Lucknow right now are 799 Rs/150 GB/100 mbps, 999/300/200 and 1499/500/300 and with a monthly top-up of 299, you can make it 3333 GB.
My patience is running out for if I have to wait till January. I have been hinted by someone from Jio that their already announced plans will be changed to almost virtually unlimited plans once they are ready to go full flow and though I would hate to do it, but then I have to go for a fresh JioFiber connection and disconnect Airtel.
@Sam27 Yes, I do have ACT and Tachyon. Once Airtel Fiber is available i will give up Tachyon. Their service is too unreliable for my taste. With Airtel FUP free option, Tachyon won't be necessary.
