Have already crossed 1.5Gb today and line speeds are still at pre-FUP speeds. However I have yet to reboot the modem to check if
the speeds persist.

Looks like the IP change will get done automatically, these last few days the upstream SNR has been going down with the connection resetting every couple of hours.

Just received the email from BSNL confirming the plan change from 249 to 299.

BSNL has lost its mind. Why is it providing such bad plans with daily fup quota. I miss the old unlimited 675 plan. I think it's time for me to ditch BSNL.

Just rebooted the modem a little while ago. The speeds are back to 1mbps..

Looks like the party got over. Time to ditch bsnl as soon as JIO FTTH hits my area :)
Glad that my backup airtel connection is an unlimited flat 8 mbps plan.

Well, I am okay with daily limit on wired broadband. Even Jio fiber seems to have daily plans when it launches. What worries me is the cost. Private operators provide daily data of 1.4gb / 1.5gb at a much less price on a 4g network. We all know that wireless bandwidth is always costlier than wired bandwidth. So, if BSNL provided at least 3gb or 5gb per day at 249, that could be reasonable. Increasing the prices with decreased data limits than what's provided by private operators using 4g is making a world of differences.

I remember when Jio 4g launched. In my city, BSNL were forced to remove broadband over WiFi connections citing stupid reasons. Most of those who had such broadband connections switched to Jio.

Similarly, I think BSNL makes it easier for customers to switch to Jio fiber when it launches in the near future.

From now, BSNL BB would be used only in villages where no other broadband is available. Even tier 2 and 3 cities are likely to be covered by Jio fiber (in a few years).

Did your line rate change after you rebooted the modem or its the same as before.

Line rate doesn't change on crossing FUP. Speeds are capped at the backend/ server side..
