New Channel List and Packages from Tata Sky DTH

So the current plan where I was paying 700 per month to Tata Sky which included 2nd Set top box will suddenly cost 1200. Fucking awesome. So in guise of clarity, all these channel companies including Zee, TataSky, etc have heavily lobbied the Trai to get this pricing official so that the loot will also be official.

The site is saying there will be ₹500 extra per month for 2nd set top box i. Your house... Is that correct?

yes, 500 for me for my second TV, earlier it was 225 with 6-month long duration pack. it's now 500 because i have picked matching plan of 500 plus NCF of 250 approx, earlier i had the platinum HD pack.

I am on the south special plan offer for 1800 per annum with 2 regional free packs.
167 Channels in the South pack + 17 channels in regional pack 1 + 28 in regional pack 2.
Total 212 channels.

This costs me 150 per month. As per the revised rules I pay 385 for the same.
And TRAI calls this empowerment!!

The saving grace supposedly is that I am on a LDP that expires on 29th July 2019.
Apparently as per TRAI users who haven't chosen a new pack should be allowed
to continue on the LDP. Lets see how things go in a few hours.

Trai asks DTH firms to allow customers with long-term packs to continue

not sure if it would work for people renewing today or in recent days.

For users currently subscribed to a long duration pack, Tata Sky will migrate you to a monthly pack of your choice on / after 1st February 2019 and credit the applicable balance in your Tata Sky account as soon as you are switched to monthly packs.”

Thy changed my pack to 1200 per month. with 1 multi tv.
I think better option is JIO TV with screencast or netflix/Amazon prime

My multitv is charged at 500 pm and the base tv pack is 215 + 153 = 368..
Secondaty tv charges are higher!!

Time to think alternatives....
