really vishalrao? I configured the top of the line model with a carry case, good webcam and in-built bluetooth and that came to around $520 (say about Rs. 25k). Seems decent to me.

is that price configured on the US site? including taxes/shipping etc? i bet the india price will be a bag load higher than say the Acer Aspire ONE... but i've not been paying too much attention to "netbooks"... more interested in "umpc" form factor to become cheap...

while ipod touch is priced at just 15000 RS, why should iPhone which has only a few extra things be priced at double the 15000 INR?absurd price, isn't it. Or should say greed..

any idea WHEN the new ipod touch will be available in india? i went to the Apple store in Pune today, they are still selling the old model at the old price... i almost bought the old 16gb model by mistake without checking, only stopped to ask/check because of the higher price and realised

yeap they are officially launched and priced on the Apple india website. i have to check with the dealer at delhi if they have received the new stock...they were pretty late with the shuffle too. apple had dropped the price of 1 and 2 GB models and they still had the old stock with the higher price tag. they knew that the rates had been officially dropped but they could not sell it to me at those prices. damn apple.

Apple website displays price as 12800 INR as I said but you can buy cheap in some websites like indiaplaza.in or mobile store.in.currently it seems they are all having old stocks to sell.if you can wait for a month, these websites will get their new stocks in, with a discount of 500 to 1000 INR to the apple stores. I think 12800 is exclusive of tax, I assume you should pay 4% VAT extra

who can wait for a month. im already twitching not being able to get it today as far as "exclusive of taxes" well theres octroi, sales tax, vat, extra govt pleasure tax, some random act of god tax, blah blah tax... i'll be happy if i can get the 8gb model for around 15k soon
